My Prep

Add the exam you are preparing for and get its syllabus unit by unit, what to do next, its tests and a place to revise.

My Prep is one place for each exam you are preparing for. It lists the exam's syllabus unit by unit, tells you what to do next, shows its tests and keeps what you need to revise. It is free, and you can prepare for up to eight exams at a time.

What My Prep is

The site already has lessons, problems, question sets and tests on every topic. My Prep arranges them by the syllabus of the exam you chose, so you do not have to work out where a topic is. What you learn counts in every exam that shares the unit: if you move from JEE Main to NEET, your Physics and Chemistry stay.

Good to know

An exam's hub opens once the site covers enough of its syllabus. Until then the exam keeps its own page with its tests and practice, and My Prep remembers the exam you added.

Add an exam

  1. Open My Prep

Press My Prep in the menu (the yellow button next to Mock Tests), or open it from your account menu or the Practice menu.

  2. Choose where your exam is

Press Exams in India or International exams. The page picks one from your device's time zone, and you can change it. The list then shows only that group's exams.

  3. Say when and how much

Choose the exam, the day you sit it if you know it, the hours a week you can give it and your level. Indian students see Class 9-10 or Class 11-12. Others see Year or Grade, with the ages. Tick Email me a weekly summary only if you want it. Then press Start preparing.

Your hub for an exam

The hub starts with three numbers: the days to go, how far through the syllabus you are, and the exam's next live test.

  • Today gives your next three things: carry on with the unit you worked on last, strengthen the one you got most wrong, and start the next.
  • Tests lists the exam's tests. On a phone it comes before the syllabus.
  • Syllabus has one block per subject, folded away. Each block shows how many units you have started. Open one to see its units and how you stand in each: not started, learning, practising or exam-ready.

A unit is exam-ready when you have answered at least 20 questions in it and got 70% right. A unit the site has nothing on yet is listed without a status.

One unit of the syllabus

Press a unit to open it. It has four steps, and a step with nothing in it is left out:

  • Learn: the courses on the unit, with the lessons you have done.
  • Practise: the exam's own problems first, then question sets, and links to all the questions and problems on each topic.
  • Test yourself: the exam's tests on the unit, or its full mock tests.
  • Revise: the questions you want to look at again (next section).

The panel beside the steps (above them on a phone) shows your status, lessons done and answers, jumps to each step, and links to the units before and after. Everything you open from a unit has a link at the top that brings you back to it.

Revise: wrong answers and Revise later

The Revise step of a unit has two lists:

  1. Wrong answers

A question you got wrong in this unit waits here until you get it right. You do not have to do anything.

  2. Marked to revise

Press Revise later beside a question on its page, under a quiz in a lesson, or beside a question in your test result. It appears under Marked to revise in its unit. Press Done when you are happy with it, or press the button on the question again to unmark it.

Marked questions are kept in your own vault called To revise, which only you can see. You can practise from it in My Question Vaults, together with your wrong answers.

Bell notices and the weekly email

In the bell you hear when a new live series for your exam starts, when an exam for it is approved, and once a week what is new for it. You hear nothing for an exam you stopped.

The weekly email is off until you tick it. It arrives on Monday, only if there is something to say: the days to go, how far through you are, your next three steps and any live test that week. Each email ends with a link that stops it in one tap.

Change or stop an exam

  • With more than one exam, choose which is your main exam. It opens first.
  • To stop, press Stop on the exam's card. It moves to Past exams with your progress kept, and you can restore it with one press. You can also leave its exam goal, which stops its live tests coming first.
  • Your progress belongs to you, not to the exam. Lessons, answers and problems count again in any exam that has the same unit.
