Your profile

Change your name, bio and picture from Profile in the account menu. When you choose a photo, drag and zoom it to pick the part that shows in the circle. Under Edit Profile you also choose your subjects.

Emails and notifications

Everything shows as a notice in the bell on the site. We also email what is time-sensitive: a live class starting, exam reminders and results, certificates, a decision on a join request, and decisions about your content.

Turn emails off from your Profile page; the notices on the site stay. Notices about your account itself, such as a change to your role, are always emailed. Every email ends with links to the Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and Help.

We ask for your date of birth when you sign up, and a parent or guardian approves the account by email. On your 18th birthday these limits lift by themselves. If you have not confirmed your age, a reminder shows on your dashboard with a link to do it.

Certificates and your member ID

Every certificate on the site (exams, class tests, learning paths and classes) carries a number and a QR code. Scanning it opens the certificate on StemPy Lab, so anyone can see it is genuine. Anyone can also type the number on Certificates, where your own are listed to open or print again. A certificate is permanent: it stays even if the class, path or exam is later removed.

Under Edit Profile, Name on your certificates sets the full name to print (an under-18 profile shows only a first name, so give your full name there). It is also asked the first time you register for an exam or join a Live Series. The same card shows your member ID, like SP-48K7QX. It never changes, it is printed on your certificates, and teachers see it beside your name, so two students with the same name are told apart.

A teacher can lock their own content Private: usable only in their own classes and courses, invisible to search and to other teachers.

For teachers and adminsFor teachers

  • Two views of the Teacher Studio. At the top of its menu, Exams keeps only what running exams and class tests needs (with an exam desk as the home page); Everything shows every tool. The choice is remembered.
  • The admin menu is grouped by task, with what is waiting for you first, and a Find a page box at the top that searches every admin page.
  • Side panel. Open a course, problem, test or note from the admin panel or Teacher Studio and the same menu stays beside it, so the next item is one click away. Hide panel turns it off.
  • Bulk Import loads problems and questions from a file. See Bulk Import.
  • Admins and complaints. An admin can open any class read-only. Candidates finds anyone by member ID, email or name; Grievances lists unanswered appeals and attempts held for three days without review. When a teacher or organiser does not act, an admin can, but each action asks for a written reason, kept in the Audit Log.
