Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Name the four kinds of honeybee found in India. Which one has been brought to India to raise the honey yield, and what makes it a good choice? What is meant by pasturage, and how does it affect the honey?
Four honeybees live in India: Apis cerana indica, Apis dorsata, Apis florea and Apis mellifera, the Italian bee. Honey and wax come from an apiary. The flowers within reach of the apiary are its pasturage, which decides the quality of the honey. Profit is income minus cost.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. The four bees. Apis cerana indica (Indian bee), Apis dorsata (rock bee), Apis florea (little bee) and Apis mellifera (Italian bee).
Step 2. The Italian bee. It collects much honey, stings little, stays in the combs for a long time and breeds very well.
Step 3. Pasturage. It is the flowers within reach of the apiary. It decides the amount of honey and its quality and taste.
Answer: the Italian bee, Apis mellifera, because of these good qualities; the pasturage decides the amount and quality of the honey.
