Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
A farmer grows millet on hectares. The old variety gives kg per hectare. A new variety gives more, and millet sells at rupees for 1 kg. How many kilograms of extra grain does the new variety give on the whole farm, and what is the extra income?
A variety is a kind of crop with its own traits. Breeders make better ones by hybridisation (intervarietal, interspecific or intergeneric) or by genetic modification. They aim for a higher yield, better quality, resistance to biotic and abiotic stress, a shorter time to ripen, wider adaptability and a useful plant shape. Kharif crops are sown in June and rabi crops in winter.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
