Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Why does the skin have many layers of flat cells, but the lining of a blood vessel has only one thin layer?
Epithelium covers and lines. Squamous: flat. Cuboidal: cube. Columnar: tall. Ciliated: with cilia that sweep mucus.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, compare your working with the solution.
Step 1. The skin. It meets wear, germs and drying. Many layers protect the body underneath.
Step 2. The vessel wall. Food and gases must pass through it quickly. Diffusion is fastest across a thin layer, so one layer of flat cells is best.
