Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
These events of meiosis are not in order.
Meiosis I separates the homologues, and each cell gets half the chromosomes, each of two chromatids. Meiosis II separates the sister chromatids. The DNA of a human cell goes C, C, C and C. A cell in anaphase II has the diploid number of chromosomes, but only C of DNA.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. (a) The order is .
Step 2. (b) Event 5, the separation of the homologues in anaphase I.
Answer: 2, 3, 5, 6, 1, 4; the reduction is event 5.
