In triangle PQR the right angle is at Q, QR = 20 cm and PQ = 21 cm.

In triangle $PQR$ the right angle is at $Q$ , $QR = 20\ \text{cm}$ and $PQ = 21\ \text{cm}$ . Find the hypotenuse, then write all six trigonometric ratios of angle $P$ .

$\sin A = \dfrac{\text{opp}}{\text{hyp}}$ , $\cos A = \dfrac{\text{adj}}{\text{hyp}}$ , $\tan A = \dfrac{\text{opp}}{\text{adj}}$ . Their reciprocals are $\operatorname{cosec} A$ , $\sec A$ and $\cot A$ . Also $\tan A = \dfrac{\sin A}{\cos A}$ . A ratio depends only on the angle.
