Plant Growth and Development
A seed becomes a seedling, then a shoot with leaves, and one day a flower. Growth in a plant never really stops, and it is steered by a few chemical messengers and by the length of the day. In this chapter you follow growth from the cell to the whole plant, meet the five plant growth regulators and the experiments that found them, and learn how seeds rest and how plants know when to flower. Python draws growth curves and counts days of light.
