A hydrocarbon has a molecular formula. You will find how many rings and pi bonds it holds, and compare two isomers by their heats of hydrogenation.
The idea. The degree of unsaturation is for a molecule of carbon and hydrogen only. The isomer that gives out less heat on hydrogenation is the more stable.
Your tasks.
unsaturation to the degree of unsaturation of the formula.heat_cis_total to the heat given out by the amount of the cis alkene, in kJ.gap to how many kJ/mol more stable the trans isomer is than the cis isomer.more_stable to the word "trans" or "cis", whichever is the more stable.Have you tried it?
Do the tasks in the editor first, and run the checker after each one. Its hints help when a check fails. When you are ready, compare your code with this solution.
