Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Carbon dioxide is passed through lime water for a short time, and it turns milky. When the gas is passed for much longer, the milkiness goes.
Acid + metal salt + hydrogen. Acid + carbonate or hydrogencarbonate salt + water + carbon dioxide. Acid + base salt + water. Hydrogen burns with a pop; carbon dioxide turns lime water milky. Metal oxides are basic, non-metal oxides acidic.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Milky. : insoluble calcium carbonate.
Step 2. Clear. , which dissolves.
Step 3. (b) Heating reverses the second change: carbon dioxide is driven off and the solution turns milky again.
