Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
A weather station records these. Say whether each is numerical or categorical, and then whether it is discrete, continuous, nominal or ordinal.
Categorical data is a word or a label: nominal with no order, ordinal with an order. Numerical data is a number: discrete if we count it, continuous if we measure it. A number used as a label, such as a PIN code, is categorical.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. (a) Wind speed is measured: numerical, continuous.
Step 2. (b) Directions are labels with no order: categorical, nominal.
Step 3. (c) Thunderstorms are counted: numerical, discrete.
Step 4. (d) Clear, cloudy and overcast go in order of cloud: categorical, ordinal.
