Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Say whether the stimulus is physical, chemical or biological:
Every organism senses its surroundings and responds to stimuli: physical (light, temperature, touch, water), chemical (smell, taste, pollutants) or biological (other organisms). This is consciousness. Human beings alone are also self-conscious.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
(a) Touch: physical.
(b) A scent: chemical.
(c) A cat, another organism: biological.
(d) Carbon dioxide, a substance: chemical.
(e) Water: physical.
Answer: physical (a) and (e); chemical (b) and (d); biological (c).
