Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
The cow is Animalia, Chordata, Mammalia, Artiodactyla, Bovidae, Bos, taurus. The goat is Animalia, Chordata, Mammalia, Artiodactyla, Bovidae, Capra, hircus. How many levels do they share, counting from the kingdom downward? Name the last level that they share.
The levels, from the largest: kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species. A scientific name has two parts: the genus, with a capital letter, and the species, with a small letter, in italics.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Compare. Kingdom, phylum, class, order and family are the same.
