Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
The coil of a generator turns times in one minute. Find the frequency, the time of one turn in milliseconds, and how many times each second the current changes direction.
A generator turns a coil in a magnetic field. With slip rings it gives alternating current (AC), which changes direction twice in every turn; with a split ring it gives a pulsing direct current (DC). Frequency = turns each second, in hertz; one cycle takes .
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Frequency. .
Step 2. One turn. .
Step 3. Changes. times each second.
Answer: , , and changes each second.
Check. , about one second.
