Five readings in degrees celsius are -10, 0, 25, 37 and 100. Change them to fahrenheit () and to kelvin (). How many of the readings are above the body temperature of 37 degrees celsius?
The worked solution
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Plan. One array, two formulas, and a comparison that is counted with sum.
Check. -10 C is 14 F and 263.15 K. 100 C is 212 F and 373.15 K. Only 100 is above 37 (37 is not above 37), so the count is 1.
Answer: F: 14, 32, 77, 98.6, 212. K: 263.15, 273.15, 298.15, 310.15, 373.15. One reading is above 37 C.
