Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Decide whether each is a solution, a colloid or a suspension, and give one reason.
Solution: particles under , invisible, never settle, pass through filters, do not scatter light. Colloid: to , never settle, cannot be filtered, scatter light (the Tyndall effect). Suspension: large particles that can be seen, settle and can be filtered.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Solutions. (a) Copper sulphate dissolves completely: clear, blue, and nothing settles. (e) Soda water is carbon dioxide dissolved in water.
Step 2. Colloids. (b) Shaving foam is tiny bubbles of gas spread in a liquid. (d) Jelly is a liquid spread through a solid. Neither settles.
Step 3. A suspension. (c) The chalk particles can be seen, and they settle at the bottom.
Answer: (a) and (e) solutions; (b) and (d) colloids; (c) a suspension.
