Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
A sports day table has 18 runners. For each runner it records the name, the house, the age, the time for 100 m and the place.
Data is kept in a table. Each row is one case, such as a student, and each column is one variable. The number of facts is rows times columns.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
