Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Put each item into the green bin (wet waste) or the blue bin (dry waste): onion peels, a milk packet, used tea leaves, an old newspaper, a soft drink can, wilted flowers. Why should the two kinds be kept apart?
Reduce, reuse and recycle, in that order. Sort wet waste (green bin, for compost) from dry waste (blue bin, for recycling). Landfills fill up, and burning releases harmful gases. Kulhads for every railway cup would use up fertile topsoil.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Green bin. Onion peels, used tea leaves and wilted flowers.
Step 2. Blue bin. The milk packet, the old newspaper and the soft drink can.
Step 3. Why apart. Wet waste can be composted, and clean dry waste can be recycled. Mixed, the wet waste spoils the dry.
Answer: as above; kept apart, wet waste becomes compost and dry waste can be recycled.
