Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
A sunflower seedling has a stem mm thick. In one day, light from one side makes its shaded side grow mm while its lit side grows mm. By how many radians does the stem bend? About how many degrees is that?
When one side of a stem grows more than the other, the stem bends. The angle of the bend, in radians, is the extra length of the faster side divided by the thickness of the stem. One radian is about degrees.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Extra length. mm.
Step 2. The bend in radians. radians.
Step 3. In degrees. degrees.
Answer: radians, about degrees, towards the light.
