Try it on paper first. A hint, the key idea and the worked solution are here when you need them.
Each of these is a molecule. Say which are molecules of an element and which are molecules of a compound, and give the atomicity of each.
A molecule is a group of atoms joined together. Its atomicity is the number of atoms in it. A small number after a symbol counts atoms in one molecule; a number in front counts molecules; a number after a bracket multiplies everything inside.
Have you tried it?
Work it out on paper first. It is fine to get stuck or make a mistake: that is how we learn. When you are ready, go through the solution one step at a time, and check each step against your own.
Step 1. Elements. (a) , atomicity . (c) , atomicity . (e) , atomicity .
Step 2. Compounds. (b) , atomicity . (d) , atomicity . (f) , atomicity .
Answer: (a), (c) and (e) are elements; (b), (d) and (f) are compounds.
