A shop keeps its weekly sales in a table. A phone turns a picture by multiplying its points by a small table of numbers. A matrix is such a table, and in this chapter you learn to add, multiply and flip matrices. Then you meet the determinant, one number that tells you the area of a triangle and whether a matrix can be undone. You use it to find the inverse of a matrix and to solve systems of equations, and you see when a system has one answer, none or many. Python does the arithmetic and checks every result. It covers the unit of the Indian syllabus (NCERT, JEE Main) and the matching topic of A-Level Further Maths and IB Higher Level.
