You have four carbocations. Each one is described by the number of hydrogen atoms on every carbon next to the positive carbon. You will count the helpful C-H bonds, rank the ions and measure the gap between the best and the worst.
The idea. Each C-H bond on a neighbouring carbon can hyperconjugate. More such bonds means a more stable ion.
Your tasks.
isopropyl to the number of helpful C-H bonds of the isopropyl cation.tert_butyl to the number for the tert-butyl cation.order to a list of the four names, the most stable first.gap to how many more helpful bonds the tert-butyl cation has than the ethyl cation.Have you tried it?
Do the tasks in the editor first, and run the checker after each one. Its hints help when a check fails. When you are ready, compare your code with this solution.
