When the acceleration is steady, three short equations answer almost every question about motion. How fast? How far? How long? We use them on braking trains and falling stones. Then we look at motion in a circle, and we check everything with a few lines of Python.

Three equations give the speed, the distance or the time for any motion with steady acceleration.
When there is no air, every falling object speeds up by the same amount in every second. This acceleration is called g.
An object that goes round a circle at a steady speed still changes its velocity, because its direction keeps changing, so it is accelerating. This is uniform circular motion. The velocity points along the tangent, and the acceleration points towards the centre.
