Listing the outcomes of two coins, two dice and a pack of cards, then problems with balls in a bag, numbers on discs and spinners, the kinds of question boards set most.

Toss two coins and there are four equally likely outcomes, HH, HT, TH and TT, not three. Each extra coin doubles the count. Roll two dice and there are outcomes, best seen in a grid. List the outcomes first, count the favourable ones, and use the complement for "at least one".
A pack has cards in suits of : spades and clubs are black, hearts and diamonds are red. Each suit has an ace, the numbers to , and three face cards. Count the favourable cards, take care not to count a card twice in an "or" question, and divide by the cards actually in the pack.
The same counting works for balls in a bag, numbered discs and spinners. Work backwards too: from a probability you can find how many balls of a colour there are, or how many to add. Check that the outcomes really are equally likely, as on a spinner with equal sectors.
