“Tissues: Revision Sprint” is available to Standard subscribers.
The test is near, and you have a lot to remember. In this course we put the whole chapter on two pages. You get a table of every tissue, a list of the pairs that students mix up, and a drill with clues. Then you solve some problems, find your weakest topic with a small program, and take a board exam style paper.

Revision map: plant tissues: Plant tissues are meristematic, cells that divide, or permanent. Permanent tissues are simple (parenchyma, collenchyma, sclerenchyma, epidermis, cork) or complex (xylem and phloem). For each tissue, remember the cells, the place and the job, and watch the pairs that students mix up.
Revision map: animal tissues: Animals have four main tissues. Epithelial tissue covers and lines. Connective tissue joins, supports and carries. Muscular tissue contracts. Nervous tissue carries messages. For each tissue, remember the cells, the place and the job, and watch the pairs that students mix up.
Exam skill: the numbers in the tissues chapter: Exam papers on tissues often hide a calculation. Cells counted in a field of view are scaled up to a square millimetre, and a cell's size comes from the width of the field. Red blood cells are counted in standard form, and growth rings and nerve impulses are rates. Each needs the right units and one clear step at a time.
